Hee! I had the same thought. And I know he was looking out for his own self-interest, but the fact that Lionel had to point out to Clark that Jonathan would never tell him to murder anyone makes Clark look even more simple than usual.
I like Supernatural's "previouslies" too. They're very clever and fandom-y.
I completely missed Fishburne's "invisible man" line in the movie, but I would have laughed too. Anytime a customer at the bookstore asks for The Invisible Man, I have to ask "Wells or Ellison?" (and half the time they don't know!). The Ellison version is on a lot of school reading lists around here, and I think we actually sell more of it.
