Despite the beautiful sunny day, I’m very cranky (thanks a lot never-ending PMS). So I thought I’d focus on last night’s very entertaining television night instead!

24 ‘2am-3am’ 5:20

Just when I thought that the show couldn’t get more cracktastic (eg. Heller drives his car off a cliff), they have Jack hijack a plane!! How ridiculously crazy was it that he knew exactly how to make the plane jolt and was able to accomplish it so quickly (this is one of many reasons why I could never be Jack Bauer, I tend to fumble and become slow when rushed). AND isn’t it fortunate that Jack knew jolting the plane wouldn't cause it to crash

Chloe wins my heart, yet again, by just tasering the drunken guy who hits on her.

I’m now excited by the possibility that the President will try to shoot the plane down. savoytruffle suggested that Jack may have to take control of the plane and perform evasive maneuvers. How awesome would that be?!! My friend/co-worker E (who I relate the craziness of 24 to) proposed that Jack could make himself a parachute and escape that way (thus saving the passengers).

As long as they fulfill their mission of having Jack doing something completely over-the-top each episode, I’m happy.

Everwood ‘Truth…’ 4:16

This episode was all about the pain. Okay, it was really about accepting the consequences for your actions when the truth comes out. Dr. Abbott and Rose – most likely - lose their chance at adopting one of the most adorable looking kids ever because Harold omitted information about Rose’s cancer. Reid gets expelled from Med school for cheating. Irv admits to being a bad parent to his adoring daughter. And, of course, Bright tells Hannah about his infidelity.

I’m always impressed by what a good job Everwood does at making the characters sympathetic even if they’ve done something horrible. I think it’s because the characters are trying to do the right thing and be good people, but this doesn’t stop them from making mistakes. Everyone on Everwood is very real and flawed. And this is exactly why the Bright and Hannah stuff is so painful, because I felt so much sympathy for both characters.

What I’d really like to see is Hannah forgive Bright. I genuinely believe he realizes what a mistake he made, his actions speak to that (both the trying to hide it by being the best boyfriend ever, and when he tells her the truth). I don’t think she should do it right away, but it would be interesting to see her – since forgiveness is a big part of her faith – struggling with that issue.

One thing that really resonates for me is this observation by Ephram:

It always seems like there’s so many people that you could work out with. In reality it’s almost impossible to find somebody that you connect with on all levels, not just one level.

Oh, and the last shot of Hannah reminded me of Fred in “A Hole in the World”. It’s probably the similarities in characters and the sad nature of both shots. The music at the end was really beautiful, very appropriate.

How I Met Your Mother ‘Best Prom Ever’ 1:20

This was the perfect episode to watch after Everwood because there was a happy couple and it made me laugh.

The flashbacks were fun because Alyson Hannigan does young and excited so well. It made miss high school Willow – and then I got excited remembering episodic_buffy!!

I liked Lily saying she’d wanted a lesbian relationship, because it felt like a cute reference to Willow.


The wonderfully talented earth_vexer has a fabulous batch of new season 7 BtVS icons!!! I’d be using one of them now (likely the amazing one of Buffy in “Showtime” with the phrase “monster’s nightmare” on it), but I rarely get to use my lone Everwood icon.


For those of you who are James Marsters fans, he will be on this week’s Smallville episode, which will hopefully be better than last week’s.

Tonight I’ll be watching the penultimate episodes of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars. Scrubs is also a definitely must-watch. And I’ll be watching BtVS’s “The Puppet Show” for episodic_buffy. I’m saving the House episode till tomorrow night so I can watch both parts at once. [Wow, my tv watching plans are almost as exciting as when my co-worker/friend E and I give each other updates if we’re going to washroom or getting a snack.]


Oh, E is trying to get me to see Mission Impossible III and I’ve been resisting because, as I told her I’m boycotting Tom Cruise’s existence (I had meant to say movies instead of existence, but I’m amused by my mistake). Because I’m very easily convinced – about fun stuff like this – I’m pondering agreeing to go. It could be a fun, mindless movie. Should I go? Or should I hold fast to my boycotting his existence stance?!

You should see Mission Impossible III because JJ Abrams directed it, and he always made the action scenes on Alias fun! Plus, Keri Russell aka Felicity is a superspy! And obviously, Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Hmm. I love the concept of your boycotting Tom Cruise's very existence.
Scientology is just dumb. And dangerous.
But...ya, other folks involved, as has been pointed out, and mindless fun... X3 isn't out yet. What's a girl to do? :)

I think we'll end up seeing MI III. My friend is very entertaining so it should be fun. We're also planning to see X3 on opening night, which I'm really looking forward to.

Yeah, I'd also prefer to see PSH in something as good as Capote (love that movie). But at least he'll be a highlight of MI-III. I think we are going to go, but my friend is very entertaining so it should be fun.

hee! I'm more than happy to help other people not feel bad! And I generally I will ignore the actor's RL, but Tom Cruise is particularly disturbing to me. That being said, I think I will be going to the movie.

I've never had any problem separating the actor from the movie; in fact, it annoys me when I mention a show and someone says they refuse to see it because of the star. However -- in the case of Cruise I can see why people might make an exception.

Dude, I am so in the same boat with you regarding the MI3/boycotting the Cruise conundrum.

He makes me sick, especially after my recent airport visit which is when I get ALL my celebrity gossip (I don't purchase, I merely read the trash voraciously in the gift shop).

But Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in it. *pouts and feels confused*

I'm normally able to ignore celebrity's real life ridiculousness but I find Cruise so disturbing and scary, it's hard to get over. However I think I will see the movie in spite of him. There are so many other positive factors, such as Jonathan Rhys Meyers!!

Oooh the celebrity gossip reading sounds fun, especially because you didn't have to pay for it.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was very very enjoyable in MI-III! He has some good scenes and is all sweaty - but not gross - at one point. Of course there's still lots and lots of Tom Cruise and a dodgy plot but the JRM was very enjoyable!!

Ah yes, that's one of things about SMG that I try not to think about, so that I can enjoy the show. I've seen a couple of interviews with Kristin Bell, who doesn't seem horrible or anything but she's just so un-Veronica, so I try to avoid seeing her outside the show.
