Call me an optimist, but I'm hoping to find a fortune in gold doubloons. (btvs 2:2)
This has been one of those weird weeks. I've been all spacey and done things like almost walked in front of a car (I got out of the way in time, er, obviously). I also left my wallet at work one night and nearly had a heart attack thinking I'd left it somewhere like Starbucks (since it's the most likely place I'll be now that they have their Peppermint Hot Chocolates). Fortunately a co-worker found it on the floor by my desk so that was a relief! It meant I didn't have my driver's license when I went to vote in the municipal election but I discovered that just my voting card and my Bell phone bill was enough. When I offered my passport as photo ID they were like "That's no good." It's weird that my phone bill was enough proof of ID and they don't check photo IDs. *shrugs* But all the candidates I voted for won - it was very surreal cause that rarely happens.
And OMG, the other night I ALMOST DRANK A SPIDER!!!! It had somehow gotten in my water glass and as I was tilting the glass to my lips I happened to notice something moving. *still gets freaked out thinking about it* My poor friend was on the phone with me at the time, so got to experience me shrieking and being distressed.
I've also been focused on my
fall_for_sx fic, It's Not. /self-promoting
Oh! And today's
savoytruffle's day at
fall_for_sx, check out her awesome fic: Or Forever Hold Your Peace.
I'm also happy because
entrenous88 has been posting new chapters of Cuddly Predators.
So in conclusion, yay Spander!!
I also have some very brief TV comments! This morning I was reflecting that I know it's November sweeps since the characters are all in danger (or so it seems).
Veronica Mars - Of Vice and Men (3:7)
Overall I enjoyed the episode and was totally worried and stressed during the River Stix scene (yay Vinnie!) and at the end. The instant Veronica got up to change her meal in the cafeteria, I knew something bad would happen. I've never been on something like GHB but it was frustrating that she didn't get *anyone* to help her when she was feeling oozy. I know she was feeling estranged from her dad and Logan but still, couldn't she have tried to get help? It is mostly in character but was still frustrating. And the ending was sweet - and relieving!!
Fyi: the surfer roommate of the missing boyfriend was played by Charlie Weber who was Ben on BtVS (as in Ben & Glory). He was also on Everwood back when Madison was on the show.
The girlfriend of the missing roommate was played by Amanda Walsh. You may recognize her as one of the girls who slept with David Boreanaz in These Girls and as a cheerleader on Smallville. And if you're Canadian, you'll remember her from her days as a MuchMusic VJ.
Bones - The Aliens in the Spaceship (2:9)
Now this was such a good episode! And I was waaay less frustrated than in VM. It was so cool to see Brennan and Hodgins be all MacGyver - and have it be totally in character. Both the actors impressed me with their skill. I was in tears many times, partly because I'm sentimental and partly because I was genuinely moved. I have to say that it's not often these days that I get totally sucked into a TV show (I've been feeling so distracted recently), and this episode totally sucked me. Although I wish that they'd actually included in the episode who the Gravedigger was (I'd correctly guessed during the episode). Thanks to
carmen_sandiego for linking to the Fox official recap which gives that info. And I highly recommend
carmen_sandiego's fun commentaries on the show, check out this week's here.
Dancing with the Stars - Finale
I really enjoyed all the finalists so am very happy with Emmitt and Cheryl winning. It's especially cool because they both seem so nice, and Emmitt has great charisma. I really liked Mario too, it was neat that the competitors were so closely matched. And I must say, OMG - Mario and Karina are so a couple!!
I'm ridiculously behind on so much TV right now. Three separate co-workers harassed me about not seeing this week's Heroes yet. If only there were more hours in the day! *contemplates trying to find that time turner Hermione has in Harry Potter*
I hope you're all good! *hugs*

It's funny, I forgot to bring my voting card and the guy asked me for my driver's liscense. (I don't have one.) I offered my photo health card and had to genuinely stand there and convince the guy that yes, this has both my photo ANd address on it, and finally one of the scrutineers behind him said "oh, of course you can use that, come on over..." Yeesh.
Bones = love. But these people need to get with the shagging tout de suite.

Bones makes me so happy! Yes, the shagging totally needs to happen!

Heheh, when I saw Amanda Walsh on VM, I thought, oh cordelianne will know who that is, if no one else on my flist does. Yay for Canadianness. *g*

Yay! It's funny because I thought that you'd know who she is! *joins you in yaying Canadianness*
And I must say that's an awesome icon, which I see you made yourself! It's very fab!

I'm glad to hear this bothered you too. What made it worse was her voice over as she stumbles to her car "I can't believe this is happening again." Given that she had a phone in her hand where she could return a call with one click I can't imagine why she wouldn't do that if she could walk all the way to her car. What's more, given her reaction to Logan's lack of responsibility re: the fire, I am pretty unimpressed by her lack of responsibility at endangering everyone on the road with her if she's going to try and drive in that state. I think it would have been just as effective for her to call Logan or her father and then pass out and THEN be rescued than have Logan conveniently come across her just in time.
Glad you caught up with DWTS. It was a great competition this year. And I got tickets to see the stage show in January!

That's such a good point! I assume that GHB has to damage judgment, and obviously makes it hard to think clearly but still, if she's able to connect this feeling to the previous time, you'd think she would do something responsible like call someone. My friend and I were sort of yelling at the TV "What are you doing Veronica? Don't walk away from the people! Get help!"
After you mentioned how much you'd been enjoying DWTS, I caught up that weekend - and I really loved the episodes. It's such a fun show to watch. Oh! That sounds like such fun, you'll have to post about seeing the show! *g*

::beams:: I have to admit it's probably been my favorite show so far this season. It probably helps that it has a limited run, it keeps things fresh.
I'm sure I'll have at least a few comments about the show :> I was happy to hear Joey was going to be on the tour. He amused Mike and me to no end. Mike said Joey reminded him of Clem -- if he had been played by JM.

Yes! It's been one of my favourite shows this season too. So entertaining and fun. And I was so impressed by how good the dancing is!!
Oh yay! I'll look forward to hearing how the show is. I really enjoyed Joey too. heee, he does have that adorable Clem like quality!

The first thing that jumped out at me in this post was:
I ALMOST DRANK A SPIDER!!!!
This should be your new LJ name (and possibly, a children's book about noticing things *g*).
no subject
hee, I'm not surprised that it jumped out considering I'm still all jittery about it!! Well, that and the use of capslock!
Oooooh, that would be a good LJ name! teehee, a children's book about noticing things would rock too. I bet kids would totally get a kick out a book like that because it could include all sorts of neat info about spiders and bugs but in a fun way.

The Starbucks Christmas drinks are so very yummy. They're always something I can rely on to cheer me up.
Oh wow, good luck with fic catch-up!
*hugs you tight*
drinking spiders
You should have to hold my hand through the nightmares that's going to give me today.
Re: drinking spiders
heeee! That was exactly my reaction!! I am still traumatized. *g*
