Veronica Mars renewed, but sad news for Everwood
Michael Ausiello (TV Guide) reports that Veronica Mars has been renewed!!! The sad news is that Everwood won't be. Here's what you'll find at the link:
Straight from the horse's mouth, Rob Thomas just e-mailed me to confirm that Veronica Mars has been renewed for a third season. The show got a 22-episode order that, depending on ratings, can be reduced to 13. Very reliable sources, meanwhile, are also telling me that One Tree Hill will be back and that Everwood is, in fact, dead. Talk about injustice.
So I'm trying to focus on the positive that my beloved Veronica Mars will be back. I'm a little worried because this is similar to what happened to Arrested Development and we know how that turned out.
I've been lucky because Everwood is the only one of my shows so far to be officially not renewed. (I am incredibly sad about this, because it's one of the best shows on television.) Here's what's been renewed so far:
- My Name is Earl: Moves to Thursdays 8pm, NBC
- The Office: Moves to Thursdays 8:30pm, NBC
- Scrubs: It won't be airing until mid-season, like this year. NBC
- What About Brian: Mondays 10pm, ABC (I haven't decided if I'll keep watching.)
- Lost: Wednesdays 9pm, ABC (I'm considering not watching next season because I haven't been loving this season and I need to cut down on the amount of shows I watch)
- Grey's Anatomy: Moves to Thursday 9pm, ABC
ETA: - I believe that Gilmore Girls has already been picked up by the CW (probably for Tuesdays 8pm).
ETA#2: - Because the official schedules haven't been announced I forgot that Bones and How I Met Your Mother have already been renewed.
I haven't been following the new shows too closely because I find so much can change between now and September. And I'm trying to reduce the amount of tv shows I watch, not increase them.

I've never seen Everwood so I don't know what I am missing out on. But sorry for you though, because you liked it. ::hugs::

Eeeerrrrrp. ::crosses fingers::
The good news is that I've written your drabble! Yay! But, er, none of the others. Which is the bad news because I wanted to post each by the order requested, and you were, er, third to last. Ha! I laugh at my stupidity.

Thanks for your sympathy about the Everwood news. It's really too bad when quality and critical acclaim isn't factored into renewals (although to be fair, I think that helped VM get renewed).
The drabble is written!!! Yay!! I'm so excited to read it. And I don't think it was stupidity because I've been writing out of order too. I've only - mostly - completed one drabble so far but am mulling on the others.
*hugs*

However they've never been able to compete with the big 4 networks because they'd split the remaining ratings. So, they decided to merge. So CW is actually a joining of their names. UPN is owned by CBS (thus the "C") and the "W" is for the WB. Don't you love my short answer?! *g*
And Grey's Anatomy is very fun, I'm glad you're getting into it! They do a good job of not making it totally predictable and cliched. And yay for My Name is Earl love!!

the clip montage during the season finale did not bode well.

That is a very good question! Unfortunately the only thing I've heard so far is not good news: Despite Reba being one of the few 'healthy' sitcoms, the CW is reported not to want it. (http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-rebavsthecw,0,4812859.story) We won't know for certain until Thursday May 18th when the CW makes it's official announcement but it doesn't look good. It's so annoying that a show like 7th Heaven is renewed but ones like Reba and Everwood have shaky futures.

That is all.
Wait, no it isn't.
I'm considering not watching next season because I haven't been loving this season and I need to cut down on the amount of shows I watch I stopped watching Lost a few episodes into this season. It just didn't seem worth it anymore. Geez, I hardly watch any TV that's not only on DVD. The only shows I've watched regularly this season are Bones and VM. Occasionally I'll watch Smallville (JM), House, My Name is Earl, or The Office. That's it. Hopefully there'll be something new that'll catch my eye in Sept. ::misses Buffy::

I was annoyed with the first few episodes of Lost this season ("we'll just keep showing the same thing over and over again from slightly different perspectives but with no new info"), but I have a hard time letting go of shows that I watch. I like - and watch - all those shows that you occasionally will. It would be nice for there to be an awesome new show next season (even though I shouldn't be watching more tv).
::misses Buffy:: Me too!!!!!!!

Yep. That was the nail in the coffin for me. And I really wasn't invested in any of the characters (except for
Gavin's hair), so it was easy to let go. Also, I just don't have the time for TV and the Internet, so the Internet wins. *g*no subject

heee! That is one of the reasons why I want to decrease my tv viewing cause LJ is so damn addictive! *g*

Fandom is ridiculously time-consuming. Never a truer word! And it's so ridiculously fun and addictive it's hard to stay away!! *g*

My oldest daughter keeps telling me how this new show is so great and how I should catch that new show ... I keep reminding her that I don't have time to watch the shows I'm *already* into!

heeee! I can definitely relate to having a hard time keeping up-to-date on shows! That's why I'm trying to cut back next year. *g*
