24 “4-5pm” (5:10) aka Jack still rocks, but so does Audrey
Why is 24 such a cracktastically awesome show?
1. Jack once again narrowly escapes death by bomb and - miraculously - electrocution and fire.
2. Audrey is so fiery, in command and breaking the rules all over the place, that the show has actually convinced me she’s a good match for Jack. Also, she uses Jane Espenson as an alias (shout-out to ex-BtVS/AtS writer who I adore)!!!
3. President Logan continues his reign of indecisive incompetence.
4. Meanwhile his totally cool wife, Martha Logan, and the AWESOME Aaron survive their limo being SHOT at and SET ON FIRE!! Oh yeah, 24’s such a real show./scarcasm
5. Chloe is still awesomely snarky.
6. I just want to squish Edgar.
7. Sean Astin, who I loved as Sam in Lord of the Rings, makes me hate him and celebrate when Audrey and the totally cool Curtis take him down.
Why Supenatural “Shadow” (1:15) surpassed my expectations
1. Sam immediately is suspicious to see Meg Masters again. Thank you creators for not having him be stupid. (btw I don’t think that Dean is stupid because he initially discounted the “Meg is evil” theory; he just wanted Sam to use his “downstairs brain”!)
2. Meg knew that Sam was watching her. I kept thinking “He’s not being very stealthy. How could she not notice or hear something? Especially with all that clanging in the elevator shaft?” So I was very pleased that she totally knew, and was setting a trap for him and Dean.
3. That the dad didn’t fall into the first trap, but he did fall into the second one.
4. Meg isn’t easily vanquished. I’m so very happy that Supernatural isn’t following the Charmed example of having a demon easily vanquished. If you make the evil things too easy to beat then it’s not interesting and you lose respect for the "heroes".
5. I like that Sam & Dean’s plan of sneaking into the warehouse didn’t work, and even though it appeared they beat Meg, she didn’t die.
6. The Sam & Dean scenes continue to impress me and be my favourite parts of the show. It’s very touching when Dean tells Sam that he loves him and wants to have their family together, which turns heart-breaking when Sam explains that he doesn’t want to do this monster hunting forever and, instead, live a normal life. Excellent choice to have Dean be vulnerable about his feelings and then have Sam basically reject Dean.
7. I liked that it was Dean, the first one to hug their dad, (Oh, did I mention that their DAD was in the episode?!!) who was the first one to realize they couldn't be with their dad.
8. They didn’t resolve the Sam & Dad stuff in some easy way. It felt like they reached a good understanding but that the issues are still there.
9. I love that the Winchesters basically run away from Chicago as fast as they could! It was nice to have an episode when the mystery isn’t completely solved.
In this episode, I could totally tell it's filmed in Vancouver (it totally looked like Vancouver, not at all like Chicago).
It’s back, baby! The Amazing Race 9 (1:1)
PHIL!!!! I was so happy to see Phil again, and interacting with 2 person teams! They’re already in another country!!! Oh yeah, the race is back!
I’m rooting for David and Lori because they’re geeks and adorable! I also like BJ and Tyler because of their excellently weird style and cool attitudes.
Crazy prediction based on not much: Ray and Yolanda will win the race, and I’ll be okay with that cause they seem pretty cool.
As long as the frat boys, Eric & Jeremy, and the sexist guy & his wife, Lake & Michelle, don’t win I’ll be happy.
Gilmore Girls “Bridesmaids Revisited” (6:16). I love Rory’s friends!
I would be happier about the Rory/Logan split if I thought it was final, which I suspect it is not.
Zack proposed to Lane!!!! That made me very happy because they’re such a great couple, and it’s nice to see one character be happy. *loves Lane*
I was so happy that Rory and Paris reconciled because I adore Paris and all her craziness!
I guess I should address the Lorelei telling Christopher that the two of them (“we”) will deal with his daughter (Gigi). I like that this is Lorelei trying to get what she wants with Luke and his daughter, but instead with Christopher as a substitute. I am hoping that the Lorelei and Christopher thing will lead to Luke and Lorelei actually dealing with the Hannah issue. *desires to see Luke & Lorelei happy together*
Conviction Pilot (1:1) or At least J. August Richards is on TV again
I’m not even sure how many female characters there are on this show because they all seemed to blend together. Perhaps it’s because of the almost NO personality they have. Hopefully this will be remedied.
I wouldn’t watch this show if it weren’t for J. August Richards and Eric Balfour (who I like) because I’m not big on law shows. So I’m not going to talk about the law aspect because I didn’t really pay attention. Basically I liked J and Eric’s characters and that’s about it. Oh yeah, I liked the guy who died. Btw I saw his death coming from the minute he was introduced.
I’ll probably give it a few more episodes, in the hopes that it improves from the pilot.
I noticed that being sick and pre-menstral caused me to cry at every possible sad moment during my tv watching mini-marathon, which weirdly, made the watching more enjoyable.
