1. Holiday Feedback-a-thon: Okay, so I commented on about three stories and then everything got crazy before Christmas – which I should have known would happen. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am still excited about reading the stories and will be working my way slowly through them asap! I have not forgotten, I’m just really really slow.
2. My fic masterlist/my fic round up for 2006: I have plans to do this, but have not actually done any work on it. Unless thinking about it counts as working on it. *g* So look for this in the hopefully near future. Er, and I'll be trying to get back into fic writing too.
3. My visit with the girlfriend: It was absolutely wonderful!! (Trust me when I say that’s an understatement.) I had a fabulous time and – of course – I didn’t want to leave. I thought I’d share a few highlights which will hopefully interest you, including meeting the absolutely awesome, fun and adorable

- I successfully connected through Denver, and even though I was delayed by a few hours it was because of bad weather in another part of the country. My suitcase, however, was delayed even longer and didn’t arrive till the next day. BUT, the important thing was that I was able to spend New Year’s with Camisha. *beams*
- We watched the first half of S3 of Battlestar Galactica, well rewatched in my case. The things I had enjoyed or cried about on first viewing, I still enjoyed and cried about this time. Oh the Tighs, how I love that whole story arc. *sniffs* I do admit that I fell asleep at one point and was woken up when Camisha exclaimed “I do not understand what’s happening” – I was sadly no help. It was good to rewatch because I found I caught things I hadn’t noticed the first time. I continue to love BSG!
- Outlet shopping!! As Xander says in “the Replacement” when he’s found a quarter: “Well, ma'am, for me it *is* worth getting excited about.” I’ve never been to an outlet mall so this was very exciting for me – and it was a productive shopping experience.
- Seeing the troll under the bridge in Fremont (I was visiting the Seattle area) as well as the other cool statues in Fremont. We also had a yummy brunch there too!
- Going to the Pike Street Market and seeing them throw fish, and admiring the lovely looking produce.
- Riding the Monorail to the Space Needle (aka the Monorail to Nowhere, cause it only goes between a mall and the Space Needle). It totally reminded me of that Simpsons episode when they’re convinced to build a monorail in a Music Man kind of situation, so I kept having the song from that episode running through my head. Except the only lyrics I could remember were “Monorail”.
- Visiting the very cool library in Seattle’s downtown, check out the slideshow to see what it looks like here.
- Getting a Peppermint Hot Chocolate from the first Starbucks location!
- Meeting

- Having fancy mixed coffee drinks at a cool, very West Coast coffee shop (ie. it totally fit the image in my head of a Seattle coffee shop, even though it’s technically in Redmond), after seeing (and crying at) We Are Marshall.
- Discovering that Las Vegas is indeed really really bright (I connected through there on the way home) and also discovering that there’s slot machines in the airport there! The sound from the slot machines actually becomes annoying after a while so fortunately I wasn’t delayed there.
4. My laptop: The power cord has broken and there’s wires exposed. FutureShop (where I purchased my computer and have a warranty through) have ordered me a new one but have said it’ll take three weeks. My reaction: THREE WEEKS!! WTF?! (I restrained myself from saying exactly that to the rude and condescending tech guy). I’m going to see if I can get that sped up. But in the meantime I’ve taped up the cord with electrical tape and am hoping it’ll hold up till the replacement comes. *eyes it warily* Okay, I’m actually at work right now and nowhere near it, but I still eye it warily.
So, this has impeded me from being very active on LJ (I didn’t even have the dangerous cord that shoots out sparks for a couple of days, and thus was trying to conserve my battery), but I have been reading people’s entries and am caught up. I’m hoping to start commenting more soon, and catch up on fic reading and commenting (I’m always behind on fic reading! *g*)
*hugs you all*
