I also love this exchange from the BtVS episode "Goodbye Iowa" which I quoted above:

Anya: And after everything you've been through with Angel. You really should get yourself a boring boyfriend. Like Xander. You can't have Xander!

Buffy: That was the idea. Riley was supposed to be Mr. Joe Guy. We were going to do dumb things like hold hands through the daises going tra-la-la.

Willow: Poor Buffy. Your life resists all things average.

Anya: So dump him. But you can't have Xander!

Now that I’ve had time to mull over Veronica Mars “Rashard and Wallace Go to White Castle” (2:12) I actually have lots of random thoughts on the episode!! .

- I think I didn’t have much to say about the episode last night was because the “A” storyline about Wallace initially didn’t seem that strong. I didn’t have the “Veronica saves the day” happiness at the end of the episode that I frequently do (not that the show always follows that format). However on further reflection, Veronica’s involvement is more subtle; as if she purposefully stepped back so that Wallace could be more active.
- I liked that Wallace’s dad is involved in the story, instead of his character just being dropped now that Wallace is back in Neptune.
- This storyline made me enjoy Jackie more. It’s neat that helping out with the scheme makes Veronica like Jackie.
- Veronica saying Do you know what any words actually mean? to Wallace. So funny!

But what made me really happy, was all the season arc mystery stuff!!

The Bus Crash:

- Keith stealing evidence from the Sherriff’s department by implementing the info he learned in “One Angry Veronica” (2:10). I loved Keith this episode!
- LOVED the flashbacks of Lamb interviewing Dick, Cassidy and Gia!! Poor Cassidy, he has some dad issues (I like him so I hope we don’t find Cassidy did anything bad).
- I also really liked that the rat was on the bus just to make is smell so bad it would encourage the 09ers to get off the bus. Obviously I don’t like the idea, but it’s cool story-wise.
- It’s interesting to learn that Ms.Dumas and Terence Cook had a connection.
- Also Big Dick AND the mayor both knew Curly Moran. hmmm
- The mayor told Gia not to take the bus! Early in the season I suggested to my friends that the mayor was at least partially involved in the bus crash, but they reminded me that his daughter was on the bus. It looks my bad memory for details helped me identify a possible suspect. Of course, because we learn this half-way through the season this may be a red herring. First Sunnydale has an evil mayor, will Neptune follow?
- Lamb arrests Terrence Cook! You know Lamb has to be wrong. Unless this is also to throw us off because we expect Lamb to be incompetent. I love that this show has me second-guess everything that happens!

Felix's Murder:

- Did Thumper kill Felix? Maybe, but again this is likely too obvious.
- I continue to LOVE Logan and Weevil working together. I must admit I got completely distracted by slashy thoughts when they were in Logan’s hotel room, and when Weevil asked Logan “Are you focused?” I replied “No.” Because I was thinking about them being alone together in the suite.
- The Logan/Weevil/Veronica scene was my favourite. Yay to Veronica for not backing down when Logan asked her too.
- Bugging the confessional?! Awesome. I’m going straight to hell.
- Liked that the Fitzpatrick priest was on the up-and-up, but that his brother is using the confessional without him knowing.
- Did I say that the Logan/Weevil/Veronica scene was my favourite? I think the Weevil/Thumper and PCHer scene was my favourite. Poor Weevil, but now I’m fascinated about where they can take the character!
- Good twist to reveal that Weevil beat up Curly Moran. Should I have included that in the Bus Crash section? Maybe both these events (bus crash & Felix) are connected?*cue ominous music*

Were you wondering (like me) who the karaoke guy was that sang “Veronica”? Here’s the answer, according to TV Guide’s Chana Shwadlenak: an indie-rocktastic cameo from Spoon front man Britt Daniel, who serenades our titular heroine with a cover of Elvis Costello's "Veronica," natch. And did you notice that the poor karaoke schmo was the same guy who got one-upped earlier this season by Courtney Taylor-Taylor of the Dandy Warhols? Maybe it's not cool for me to take such joy in his continued romantic misfortune, but when the schadenfreude sounds this good, you just gotta tap your foot and go with it.

One of my friends has a thought-provoking and comprenshive post in her blog about Canada’s new Prime Minister, Stephen Harper: so is Stephen Harper a Theocon?. If you’re concerned about Canada’s future and want to know more about Stephen Harper, it’s a must read.

In tv-related serious news, it does sound like Everwood’s fate is uncertain according Ask Ausiello at TV Guide. I’m going to write to Dawn Ostroff, the current UPN President and future Entertainment President of the CW on Everwood’s behalf:

Dawn Ostroff
UPN
11800 Wilshire Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90025

Let’s hope this goes better than my letters about My So-Called Life and Angel. On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t write.

I also bring you more news about James Marsters on Smallville. Ask Ausiello reports:

”He'll [James Marsters] return in Episode 16, which will be our first episode back in April," reveals Al Gough in an interview I cribbed from my colleague, Matt Webb Mitovich. "And he will then appear in, I believe, two more episodes after that, leading up to the season finale."

It also sounds like Spike James Marsters will appear in the season finale!!

Crap, now I have to catch up on all of those Smallville eps on my Tivo so it will make any sense to me at all.

It's so hard keeping up with TV when you're obsessed with the internet!

I'm obsessed with tv and I have a hard time keeping up with it!! Of course I do try to follow too many shows.

If you've seen the other episodes that James Marsters was in, you could probably just watch the 100th episode to catch up. Smallville isn't that good at arcing stories or characters.
