*waves* It's weird to realize that I haven't posted on LJ in weeks now. I'm doing alright, it's still pretty intense right now but I'm hoping that soon I'll be around LJ a lot more.

I got tagged by entrenous88 and likeadeuce for the Six Things Meme. Since writing 6 random things about myself feels like something I can handle right now, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Six Random Things about Cordelianne

1. I love pizza. All types of pizza: thin crust, thick crust, deep dish, whole wheat crust, frozen, home-made, delivery. And I'll eat it anytime. My favourite pizza toppings are pineapple, feta cheese and sliced tomatoes which is the yummiest ever and whenever I get someone to try it, they're totally converted.

2. One summer while in university I worked as a Student Customs Officer at the Toronto airport. It was pre-9/11 but there was still all this intensive training, especially around security. I was the first customs person that you'd see when you arrived at the airport, I'd check passports and ask all those dumb questions like "Did you buy any souvenirs?" or "Are you bringing any gifts with you?" I HATED that job. Many of the other employees were racist, sexist and homophobic. I only did it for one summer.

3. I HATE mushrooms. It's a whole texture thing, it creeps me out. One time at a restaurant I ordered a vegetarian burger and instead was given a Portobello Mushroom burger! THE ENTIRE PATTY IS A MUSHROOM!!!! I'm still horrified by this experience and it was a few years ago now. There are 2 veggie burgers on the menu and I had carefully ordered the regular veggie burger NOT the portobello one. The waiter even tried to convince me that this was what I'd ordered and I was like "NO! I would never accidentally order a burger made entirely of a mushroom!"

4. The reason I use BtVS quotes as my subject line on my LJ posts: I suck at coming up with titles and when I was first posting on LJ a really appropriate line from BtVS popped into my head so I used it. Shortly after that I realized it would be easier to use the BtVS quotes instead of trying to come up with witty titles on my own. I've been asked by a few people if I have the quotes memorized and the answers is "yes and no". I've seen BtVS so many times I really can remember a lot of lines from the show so probably over half the time I'll know which BtVS quote is perfect, and I'll just look it up the episode transcript to get it correct (cause I'm not good at memorizing things word-for-word). But there are times - like today - when I have no quote in mind (and normally when I have one in mind it's because I love that line or moment on the show), and I'll just go the BBC random quote generator and click until I find one that I like or that fits my theme.

5. I love bad jokes, especially bad puns. For example, the other night a friend was helping me with something so I gave her a token (for our transit system) so she could come to my place and said "Here's a token of my appreciation." heeeee! That still amuses me.

6. When I was growing up I loved to read, and I read all the time. I have an extensive book collection. I even got my degree in English Lit. Unfortunately the whole degree process has put me off reading. I can now put down a book - even if it's at a really good part - and not pick it up again. I'm also now a really slow reader because I read very carefully. Basically since I've finished my degree I'd only read the Harry Potter books, except recently I finished a book!! Not only am I happy about this accomplishment (and plan to do a review at some point), it's an excellent book which I really really enjoyed: herself_nyc's What Love Means to You People
