cordelianne: (Tara/Willow "You think you know..")
Hi! *waves* I’m around, just haven’t been posting. I am writing! I promise! It’s just going slowly. But I will have something for [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles on Thursday – it’s almost done. *urges self on* And I will have the first couple of chapters of a new fic for the [livejournal.com profile] lynnevitational this Sunday. I also promise that I have not forgotten about Outside Pride. Chapter nine is close to being finished and I know how I’ll end things in chapter ten, I just need to write it. So good writing vibes will definitely be appreciated! :)

After having an absolutely wonderful extended visit with my supremely awesome girlfriend, I’ve been trying to keep busy to avoid being mopey. (Apparently longer visits do not make it easier to say good-bye, but still having that time together was such a wonderful experience – I can’t put into words how wonderful it was.) Fortunately the awesome news is that in a month’s time she’ll be back here and staying for almost 2 weeks. This is definitely one of the best summers ever!! :D

How I’ve been occupying myself since Camisha left:
1. Reading and obsessing over Harry Potter (currently re-reading Order of the Phoenix). Obsessing includes staying up way too late reading, making plans to see the movie on Friday, and strategizing how to remain spoiler free about book 7 (which I will be purchasing on the day of it’s release). So this is possibly crazy but I removed “Harry Potter” from my user interests in the hope I won’t get friended by some mean person who creates a username with spoilers from the book (like someone did for a significant character death on Battlestar Galactica). Why are people so crazily mean?
2. Helping my parents move into their new condo. Er, not exactly fun distraction but distracting.
3. Training our new employee at work. Again, not fun but work is proving a good way to stop me from moping.
4. Watching Transformers (which was entertaining) and hanging out with BFF. Oh! I’m totally intrigued by the trailer for the new JJ Abrams movie written by Drew Goddard: The trailer. The movie’s title hasn’t been released yet.
5. Having dinner with parents then hanging out with other close friends and watching Pitch Black - such a good movie, btw! That was my second time seeing it, and just as good as the first viewing.
6. Watching Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story which is really fun and funny. I adore Ben Stiller being all slimy and Vince Vaughan’s charm. Oh! And I love how Alan Tudyk’s character is inexplicably a pirate!
7. Eating chocolate and drinking Diet Pepsi Jazz Caramel Cream (I believe I was alerted to this yummy beverage by [livejournal.com profile] mireille719 - thanks!).

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the lovely people who’ve kindly nominated my fic for various awards. I was realizing recently that I’ve been bad and not posting about nominations and awards that I win (I tend to squee to myself and Camisha). So I thought I’d post the banners for the awards I’ve won here.

So I just won three (!!!) awards from round 9 of the Bodice Ripper Awards. Oh, and there’s a number of people on my flist who also won awards – very well-deserved! It's really awesome to be alongside such talented authors.

This one’s for Surprises (Giles/Xander, PG):

And I'm thrilled that A Little Apocalypse (Giles/Xander, PG-13) won this:

It's so cool that A Little Apocalypse (Giles/Xander, PG-13) also won this:

Long ago, I won an award from round 2 at Serenity on the Hellmouth Awards which I've mentioned before, but thought I should show off the pretty banner. It's for Xander 2.0 (Xander & Buffy, PG):

Recently I won an award in the crossover category at Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awrds for Murder at the Neptune Express (Spike/Xander, Logan/Weevil, R):

And I also received this from [livejournal.com profile] forbiddenawards:

Thank you so much for the kind people who've nominated and voted for my fic. It always lovely to know that someone enjoyed my fic enough to nominate it. THANKS!!!!! *hugs*

No they don't :> Sounds like you'll be keeping busy though. And congrats on all the awards!

The only movies I've seen recently were PotC 3 (I had mixed feelings about the content but appreciate the creators made unpopular choices), The Queen (well made), the Pursuit of Happiness (conveyed desperation really well), Little Miss Sunshine (entertaining) and the Incredibles (amazing animation and such a fun take on superheroes). I don't see movies often so I'm really behind.

Oh yeah, keeping busy which is definitely helpful. Thanks! :D

Oh, your reaction to PotC 3 makes me want to see it. I was unimpressed with the content of PotC 2 so decided to see the third one when it's on video (and I was away when it came out). I haven't seen Pursuit of Happyness which I do want to see because I always enjoy Will Smith. And I keep meaning to see the Queen. Love Little Miss Sunshine and the Incredibles!! It's sometimes better to wait and see things and not have to deal with crowds and such. Oh! I've seen some really good movies in theatre recently: Knocked Up, Hot Fuzz and Once. Those 3 movies are all fantastic! :D

* It's so good to hear that you and Camisha had such a fantastic visit. I bet you can't wait till she comes back.

* I still haven't seen the last HP movie. But! I have seen Daniel Radcliffe fully naked in real life! It was funny sitting next to all the fangirls during the play.

* I want to see Transformers so badly! I always wait until popular movies have been out for a while before I go so that I can avoid the teenagers and screaming babies though. I'm totally bitchy that way.

* It sounds like real life activities have been a good mix of busy and relaxing. I like it best that way, time seems to go by so much quicker.

* Congratulations on all your awards and pretty banners! And I'm sending a ZILLION good writing vibes your way. :)

One of the things that made the visit fantastic was getting to spend a longer time together and having it go so well and be so wonderful. I really can't wait till she comes back!

Oh wow! That's right, I'd forgotten you've seen Daniel Radcliffe naked. You totally pwn us all! I can imagine that being kind of a surreal experience.

You're very smart to wait to avoid lots of people at the movies. Sometimes I like watching a movie when the crowd's really into it and we're all reacting together but often people can be annoying. I can recall last HP movie, my friend finally turned around and told the people behind him to "shut the fuck up" (and my friend rarely swears, that's how annoyed he was). I don't think I've learned my lesson about people since I'm planning to see this HP on Friday night which should be crazy.

Thanks! And I think your good writing vibes have been most helpful because I have finished the first draft of my fic for Thursday! *hugs*
