FNL - I know that there's a plot development or a character that everyone else loved but you didn't. I want to know all about it.
Hmm, there’s definitely some plot developments I know I wasn’t alone in disliking (ie. the murder of the stalker one). I have no idea how people felt about Jason getting that girl pregnant but that storyline makes me uncomfortable. I didn’t like how he was pressuring her with “This is my miracle baby! You have to do this.” And sure I can understand why Jason feels this way, I just get uncomfortable when women are pressured about their bodies that way. I think it would help if the show hadn’t ended for the season after that, because I suspect they could have done some interesting things with it, it just left a bad taste in my mouth. (That said, I am still psyched about it getting renewed!)
Torchwood - Jack Harkness time-traveling-intergalactic-space-slut or talks a really good game? In love with *anyone* at Torchwood? In love with anyone at all?
Hee! I love your question! I have to go with time-traveling-intergalactic-space-slut – and that’s what I love about him! I think that Jack can definitely put his money where his mouth is, in more ways than one! ;)
I do believe that Jack is in love with Ianto. He’s definitely made some clear signals about that. It was Ianto he said he came back for – then he included the rest of the group. And he’s also taken steps to ask Ianto out on a date. Plus, I believe that the discussion that led up to the kiss in the icon here was totally Jack saying he loves Ianto, just without actually saying it, you know? And they have so many lovely unspoken moments that speak to their connection. I feel that at Gwen’s wedding Jack is not a fan of weddings and that he was wishing he could have what Gwen has because he knows that he’ll outlive Ianto. And I think Jack looking at the pictures of the people he’s loved over the years demonstrated that. Hee, I suspect these opinions aren’t that unpopular though. Oh well! :D
That being said, I believe that Jack is capable of loving more than person. So loving Ianto doesn’t invalidate his feelings for other people, nor does that love for other people mean that he doesn’t love Ianto. I think that Jack loves and cares for all of his team. I do think he and Gwen have a flirty very affectionate relationship and he loves her, I’m just not sure if Jack’s in love with her. But I don’t think that really matters, it’s basically beside the point because Jack has chosen to be with Ianto.
Battlestar Galactica - Who do you loathe? Who do you love?
Hmm, well Baltar drives me crazy but I also think he’s incredibly well-acted and they’re done an intriguing job with his character. Plus, I suspect this isn’t that unpopular. I do think my now extreme dislike and annoyance with Helo may be unpopular. After that truly awful episode, the Woman King, in which suddenly he was all noble and obnoxiously righteous (and everyone else was suddenly OMG so racist), I have difficulty liking him. Sure he’s pretty, but other than that, I don’t like him anymore. I think he was always better with less focus on him, and him getting more focus made me dislike him.
Okay, so I love Starbuck and Roslin and Adama, but that’s definitely popular. I do really love Saul and Ellen Tigh, which I think is mostly unpopular (although not necessarily on my flist!). I didn’t like Ellen at first, but their storyline in S3 is a favourite of mine. They have caused me to sob. I love how complex and messed up they are.
And yay for the season premiere tonight!!
I'm up for giving more opinions, so go here to challenge me!

My favourite BSG character is Baltar. I love his genius and his insight/cynicism into how things work, but at the same time having that conceit that makes him aim for power and glory in all the wrong ways without seeing the irony of his actions. If I can't be Buffy when I grow up, I want to be Starbuck *g* Helo is the April page on my BSG 2008 calendar and the picture is very scary :-)
Baltar is a really well-done character, I definitely love watching him, even when I'm rolling my eyes at him! Oh yeah, Starbuck is super cool! I love her! hee, that does sound scary, I still have a Buffy calendar so am enjoying Giles in April. :D
I still love Helo, though. I think he's the heart of the show in some ways - well, the conscience anyway. The racism plotline wasn't very well established though - stuff was cut from preceding episodes that would have explained it better. (Hmmm, I'll have to look on the DVDs to see if that's there!)
I think I blame Helo for that horrible episode when really I should blame the writers! Oh, that's good to hear about the deleted scenes. I'm getting the S3 BSG DVDs soon so I'll definitely look for them. And maybe rewatching will change my perspective on Helo. :D
Hee! It is now April on the BSG calendar I got for Christmas, so I get to sit at my desk and admire him alllllll month. *g* Though I have to admit that episode annoyed me too.
I can't stand Baltar, and I do not find him attractive at all.
I have a Buffy calendar so it's Giles this month. And your comment made me realize I hadn't switched from March, which was Xander. I wonder why I didn't change it! :D
Baltar drives me crazy but in a way that I think he's supposed to. He also adds a nice crazy edge to the show!
